Mumbai: The two most anticipated films of the year – Rohit Shetty’s ‘Dilwale’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ locked horns on December 18. It has been a nerve-wracking week for the two films which have crossed the 100 crore mark at the Box Office. After two weekends, the two are almost pacing close to each other.

While Shah Rukh Khan's film is a wholesome family entertainer with a star cast that spells magic, Ranveer's film is a period film catering to selective audience. The total collections of Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie has gone up to Rs. 120.45 cr in India alone.

Now, ‘Dilwale’ is now ahead of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ by Rs 3 crores, the collection being Rs. 123.88 crore and Rs. 120.45 crore respectively. Apparently, ‘Dilwale’ also witnessed a 67 percentage decline in its box office receipts since the first weekend.

‘Dilwale’ starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon has raked in Rs. 273.5 cr gross worldwide. It has also become the highest grosser in Malaysia in 10 days, with a collection of $400,000; and the second highest grosser of this year in UK.

According to trade analysts ‘Bajirao Mastani’ starring Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone has an upper hand because it has had a very strong word of word of mouth working in its favour.

It will be interesting to sit back and see which King rules at the Box office.
