Hyderabad: Depressed after his parents scolded him for using the cellphone for long durations, an Intermediate first year student attempted suicide  on Monday.

Md Aman, 18, of Risala Bazaar, consumed rat poison and wrote his examination at Narayana Junior College and collapsed in his classroom.

He was taken to a private hospital and is stated to be recovering. Police booked a case of attempt to commit suicide.
