Bihar Govt would strictly deal with criminals, says Lalu
‘Requested the Chief Minister to give free hand to the police,’ he said.
Patna: Condemning the Darbhanga murder case, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) patron Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday said the slain engineers' sacrifice won't go waste and added that the Bihar Government would strictly deal with the criminals.
"Santosh Jha's gang is active in Sitamarhi and Mithila region, and is involved in threatening officials of private companies, abduction, extortion and murders. They take shelter in neighbouring Nepal after committing a crime," he said.
"I spoke to the Darbhanga Superintendent of Police who told me that Jha was lodged in the jail," he added.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, along with Bihar Police top brass, reviewed the situation on Monday, he told reporters here.

"I have requested the Chief Minister to give free hand to the police, so that their morale remains high, and also fixed responsibilities from the SHO (station house officer) rank to SP level officers. If an incident takes place in their circle, they should be made accountable, and action should be taken against them by the Chief Minister and the Police Department," he added.
The Mahagathbandhan Government would provide complete protection to the people coming to work in Bihar, said Lalu, adding that the government was monitoring every incident, and no culprit would be spared at all.
Meanwhile, the kin of victim Brajesh Kumar have threatened self-immolation if proper compensation and justice was not provided to the family.
