ChennaiA woman advocate has approached the Madras HC to direct the state government to issue appropriate directive  to police to register FIR,  as in the case of ‘Beep’ song involving actor Simbu, against all concerned, who project women in bad taste directly or indirectly in films, film songs, song sequences and dialogues.

The petition,  filed by R. Balambal,  60,  is likely to come up for hearing on Tuesday (December 29).
The petitioner  submitted that cops acted  in registering an FIR in respect of alleged ‘Beep’ song, that too without any basic material to sustain such accusation. Will they take the very same action in all situations and against all persons who project women in bad taste, insulting women’s modesty in films particularly in film songs and dialogues meant for public viewing, she asked.
