Between January 1 and 15, Rs 150 crore will be at stake in Tollywood as many films, big and small, are hitting the screens. January 1 will see the release of two big-budget films, Nenu Sailaja and Abbayitho Ammayi, along with Ram Gopal Varma’s much-awaited Killing Veerappan. In fact this is RGV’s most expensive film till date.

During Sankranti, four films will try to cash in on the holidays. Jr NTR’s Nannaki Prematho is releasing on January 13  along with Balakrishna’s Dictator and Sarwanand’s Express Raja. Nagarjuna has also announced that his film Soggade Chinni Nayana will release on January 15.

While the producers have confirmed the release dates officially, given Tollywood’s history, some of them might drop their release plans. It’s going to be interesting to see how Jr NTR and Balakrishna’s films do at the box-office as there are many stories surrounding these two actors. Moreover of all the above films, these two have the biggest budgets. In all, Rs 150 crore is at stake and even if half of the films click at the box-office, it’s going to be a good start to the New Year for TFI.
