Telangana, Maharashtra on the same page
Maharashtra has agreed in principle to the Chanaka-Korata barrage proposal that will benefit both the states.

Hyderabad: The Inter-State Coordination Committee meeting between the governments of Maharashtra and Telangana states that was held on Tuesday ended on a successful note, with Maharashtra officials agreeing to study the proposals along with TS officials on the Pranahita and Godavari-based projects.
It was decided to undertake an aerial survey by both the Engineers-in-Chief on Wednesday itself to study the river pattern at Medigadda near Kaleswaram and the site at Tummidihatti which TS had agreed to reduce the height to 148 metres without causing submergence in Maharashtra.
Officials from both the states agreed to exchange the detailed plan estimates along with technical data so that a joint agreement could be signed within the next fortnight.

TS major irrigation minister T. Harish Rao, who attended the meeting expressed satisfaction over the outcome of the talks and hoped all the contentious issues concerning the irrigation projects would be solved through mutual dialogue.
