Chandrababu Naidu seeks Central help
Naidu says state has the resources but needs finance.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday told Niti Aayog vice-chairperson Arvind Panagariya that AP has all resources and it is only awaiting cooperation from the Central government. Mr Naidu interacted with Mr Arvind Panagariya who visited the district. Speaking to him at his camp office, Mr Naidu said that the state is looking for help from the Central government.
Earlier, Mr Arvind took stock of various welfare schemes in the district. Mr Arvind visited Jakkampudi Housing Colony and also Polavaram right canal which links Godavari and Krishna rivers. Minister for water resources Mr D. Umamaheswara Rao explained him the importance of the canal and the area which will benefit from it.
Mr Arvind was also told about the state government’s ambitious plan to divert water of Krishna River to four districts in the drought-prone Rayalaseema region, officials said. Mr Arvind Panagariya later visited a primary health centre, an Angan-wadi centre and a fair price shop at Velagaleru village. Officials informed him about the falling incidence of maternal and infant mortality in the state and about various other schemes.
