Hyderabad: Netizens fumed on social media and news portals after Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was deported from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Thursday morning.

The singer was denied entry as his immigration was through improper channel. As the news spread, several people from India and Pakistan expressed anger over the incident. Kamal, a netizen from Pakistan, criticised the singer, who had earlier travelled to India several times, for lack of awareness on immigration rules.

“I had never visited India, but I know the existence of this rule. How does such a frequent visitor to India like RFAK not know about it,” he commented. Several citizens alerted Pakistan government to impose similar rules for entry in that country for an Indian.

Several Indian fans of Rahat apologised to him on Twitter and Facebook, but emphasized that ‘rules are rules’. Meanwhile, the Pakistani singer went back to his country at 7.30 from the Hyderabad airport on a Jet Airways flight.
