Kottayam: BJP state President Kummanam Rajasekaran has assured the Nair Service Society (NSS) that his party would initiate corrective measures if it were hurt. He visited the NSS headquarters at Perunna and held discussions with NSS general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair after paying floral tributes at the Mannam Samadhi on Saturday during the 139th Mannam Jayanthi celebrations.

“The BJP will rectify if some among us had hurt the NSS. We'll settle the issues through talks. We always had a very warm relationship, and it will continue,” he told reporters at Perunna. Former state president of BJP V. Muralidharan and party national committee member P.K. Krishnandas were also with him.

Sources said, in the course of the discussions, the NSS general secretary expressed displeasure over a section of the BJP leaders insulting the NSS with their statements.

Mr Nair while addressing delegates' meet had said NSS will not be "a tail of any political party" referring to BJP.  He also demanded the BJP leadership to learn from other political parties including the Left, letting members work with NSS.
