Special coaching for tech students in Telangana
13,000 students from 151 colleges had completed their short-term training.
Hyderabad: Following reports of poor English skills among engineering students, the government has decided to provide special coaching through Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge. Information Technology (IT) minister K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday met TASK Chief Executive Officer Sujeev Nair and directed him to prepare coaching classes on English skills for BE students. The minister said TASK, which is a part of his nformation Technology ministry, had taken up several courses including soft skills and spoken English.
“The institution has provided training to 18,000 students from 198 colleges. About 10,000 were trained in English skills,” he said.
Apart from these, nearly 13,000 students from 151 colleges had completed their short-term training in soft skills under Professors of Practice.
“The POP covers aptitude and reasoning training and about 2,320 students from 39 colleges were trained. About 1,560 students from 39 engineering colleges were trained in basic nformation Technology skills. Over 8,500 students were given training in technology aspects to meet the requirements of nformation Technology companies including Tizen OS, IBM Bluemix, Autodesk, Oracle and ESDM,” he said.
