Telangana okays e-motor insurance
Officials said about half the 84 lakh vehicles in the state do not have valid insurance.
Hyderabad: Electronic motor insurance policies will be legally accepted by police and transport officials, making Telangana the first state in the country to do so. The e-Vahan Bima, an electronic motor insurance policy issued in digital form with Quick Response code, was launched by Telangana Information Technology (IT) minister K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday.
He said these policies can be stored on smartphones and would make verification easier. Officials said about half the 84 lakh vehicles in the state do not have valid insurance.
