Bengaluru: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly sexually abused by a 14-year-old boy twice in Peenya police station limits, after which he was detained by the police.

Police said that the victim and the boy were neighbours and both their parents were working in garment factories and both families hailed from North Karnataka. After the girl’s parents left for work, her grandmother used to take care of her. On Friday, the grandmother left for her hometown. The boy entered the house under the pretext of playing with the girl.

The incident came to light when the girl’s mother came home early in the evening. “As the mother knocked on the door, the girl took nearly 10 minutes to open the door. The mother was shocked to find the boy inside the house and dressing up. This aroused her suspicion and after the boy left she questioned the girl, who narrated the incident to her. She also told her that this was the second time the boy had done this. Later, the mother filed a complaint based on which the boy was picked up,” the police said.

The Peenya police have registered a case under the provisions of the POCSO Act and are investigating. Both the boy and the girl have been subjected to medical tests.
