Killer BMTC bus mows down 32-year-old motorist in Bengaluru

Bus was seized and the accused was arrested for rash and negligent driving.

Bengaluru: The killer BMTC has again claimed the life of a 32-year-old motorist in Kamakshipalya traffic police station limits on Sunday. The deceased, C. Ramakirshna, a resident of Kamakshipalya and working as a security guard, was crushed to death by a BMTC bus around 4.50 pm.

Ramakrishna was going on his bike to his relative’s house when the driver of the bus, who was speeding, lost control of the vehicle and mowed down Ramakrishna. He was rushed to the ESI hospital in Rajajainagar where he succumbed to his injuries around 7 pm, the police said.

The bus was seized and the accused driver, Mohammad Rafiq, was arrested for rash and negligent driving. The post mortem was conducted at Victoria Hospital and the body was handed over to family members, who conducted the last rites in Maddur.
