Hyderabad's SIT to interrogate three youngsters who tried to join ISIS

Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team of Hyderabad police will take the three youngsters, who tried to join ISIS, into custody for interrogation.  A criminal court in Nampally on Monday granted their custody for seven days to investigation officials. The cops had sought 14 days.

The officials will pick up the trio from prison on Tuesday and keep them in police detention till next week.

Abdullah Basith, Syed Omer Farooq Hussaini, and Maaz Hussain Farooqui were caught by Intelligence officials from Nagpur airport, from where they were allegedly planning to go to Kashmir.  The officials had said that the trio had planned to cross border from Kashmir and reach Syria via Afghanistan.

Hussain and Basith were earlier caught in 2014, when they were trying to cross border to Bangladesh to join ISIS.  The police has booked a case under 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 121 (waging war against nation) and under Unlawful Activites Preven-tion Act against the trio.
