Telangana: SIT quizzing of city’s ‘terror cousins’ begins

They were planning to cross the border from Kashmir and reach Syria via Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team started interrogating the three cousins from Hyderabad who were arrested in Nagpur last week while heading to join a terror outfit. 
 
Following an order from a local court, police picked up the trio from the central prison and brought them to the SIT office for questioning. The officials said that questioning would continue till next week. As per the court’s order, the officials will have to produce the three cousins, Abdullah Basith, Syed Omer Farooq Hussaini, and Maaz Hussain before the court on Tuesday next before sending them back to jail. 
 
SIT officials are trying to recover the deleted files from the computers and social media accounts of the trio, through which the three got attracted to Jihadi ideology.
The cousins were caught by intelligence officials at the Nagpur airport, from where they were allegedly flying to Kashmir. They were planning to cross the border from Kashmir and reach Syria via Afghanistan and Pakistan.
 
The police had booked a case under 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and 121 (waging war against the nation) and under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act against the trio.
