D-gang ordered Abu Salem’s death, claims Chhota Shakeel’s aide

Dawood’s brother Anees Ibrahim Kaskar ordered him to find and kill Abu Salem in 1999.

Mumbai: The recently arrested aide of Chhota Shakeel, Sayed Abbas Tublani, has revealed that he was ordered by Dawood’s brother Anees Ibrahim Kaskar to find and kill Abu Salem in 1999. That was when Salem parted ways with the D-gang. Tublani said that he tried to find Salem but in vain, said sources.

According to sources, the information was given to the police while Tublani, who was recently arrested by the anti-extortion cell of Mumbai, was being interrogated. The investigation is currently being undertaken by police officers of the crime branch.

Tublani claimed that in 1999, he was ordered by Kaskar to look for Abu Salem. Kaskar was allegedly angry at Salem for quitting D-gang and so he wanted to kill him. As Tublani begun his work to fish out Salem, he was aided by Salem’s aide Fazl-ur Rehman. Tublani also went to Sharjah to find and kill Salem but was unsuccessful and returned Dubai.

Tublani , whose criminal records date back to 1990, was also allegedly planning to kill former journalist Balakrishnan after his involvement in the auction of Dawood Ibrahim’s properties. Chotta Shakeel had allegedly ordered the kill, said sources from the police who was privy to details of Tublani’s interrogation. He has also confessed that he was receiving money every month from Shakeel via hawala transaction. Crime branch officials are already probing the Hawala link.

The city police started investigation in the case after Balakrishnan received a threatening message and call allegedly from Chhota Shakeel. According to their investigation, the police arrested Tublani from his Mumbra residence. The police said that there were four cases registered against Tublaniin 1996 that includes three complaints of attempt to murder of which one was an attack on gangster Sadhu Shetty.
