Telangana waives water cess dues
A GO was issued to safeguard the rights of street vendors.
Hyderabad: The TRS government on Tuesday issued a slew of sops ahead the GHMC polls. The GOs waived water cess dues and interest amounting to Rs 457.65 crore to benefit about 8.4 lakh consumers. Another GO reduced the property tax from Rs 1,200 to Rs 101 to benefit low income groups. A GO was issued to safeguard the rights of street vendors. They would be accorded licence as well as financial loans.
CM K. Chandrashekar Rao announced that two reservoirs would be built, one near Ramoji Film City and the other in Shamirpet, to address drinking water needs of the state capital. Orders were issued assigning WAPCOS the responsibilty of preparing the detailed project report.
