Hyderabad: Telangana advocates on Wednesday asked defence minister Manohar Parikkar to set up an entrance test centre of the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, in the city. The Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee said Telugu students have to go to Mumbai or Delhi to write the exam, which is expensive.

TJAC convener T. Sriranga Rao pointed out that the AFMC test was scheduled for May 1; the TS Eamcet will be held on May 2 and the AP Eamcet on April 29. Both AP and TS have many meritorious students who are interested in taking the AFMC test but have to stay away because there is no test centre in Hyderabad and they cannot afford to take the risk of travelling so close to the Eamcet exam dates, he said.
