A Kannada remake of Ajith's Vedalam?
It was one of the biggest grossers of Kollywood in 2015.
Ajith’s Vedalam, which hit the screens on Diwali last year, was one of the biggest grossers of Kollywood in 2015. There was speculation about the film being remade into other languages a while ago. Rumours of Balakrishna reprising Ajith’s role in the Telugu remake were doing the rounds, though there wasn’t any official confirmation. Interestingly, there were also unconfirmed reports about Ajith starring in the remake of Balakrishna’s Dictator which will hit the screens in a few days.
Now, the latest is that Vedalam will be remade in Kannada with Puneet Rajkumar in the lead. Puneet is meanwhile awaiting the release of Chakravyuh, which has Arun Vijay debuting in Sandalwood. If everything goes well, Vedalam will become the first remake of an Ajith film after a hiatus of eight years. His blockbuster Billa was the last movie which was remade into another language — its Telugu version had Prabhas essaying the dreaded don.
