Hyderabad: Several big politicians from the city, including two former mayors from the MIM, floor leaders of the Congress and the TD and the MBT’s lone corporator have lost their winning grounds in the new reservation list.

Also, in a significant move, the mayor’s post has been reserved for a BC woman.

Speculation in TRS circles is that Rajya Sabha member K. Keshava Rao’s daughter Gadwala Vijaya Lakshmi, is expected to be the next mayor of Hyderabad if TRS wins.Former mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain, who had won from Ahmednagar in the 2009 election with a huge majority and was sure to win again, has lost the seat as it has been reserved for BC women.

The Hussainialam ward, the bastion of former mayor, the MIM’s Zulfiqur Ali, does not feature any longer in the new list of wards.

Lone MBT corporator Amjadullah Khan has also lost his seat. The upset corporator accused the TRS and the MIM of conspiring against the MBT.
