Hyderabad: The TS TD is fine-tuning its election strategy to win a majority of the 150 GHMC divisions and capture the Hyderabad mayor’s post.

The party will put in place a five-tier system, setting up various committees, from the state level to polling booth level.

At the state level, two ‘policy making’ committees will draw up the strategy and three ‘war committees’ will be out on the field to ensure that these are implemented.

At the state level, a steering committee with three members and a coordination committee with 10 members have already been constituted. Assembly, division and booth-level committees would be set up.

The steering committee has TS TD president L. Ramana, working president A. Revanth Reddy and TS TDLP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao at the helm. This panel will make policy decisions regarding the elections in consultation with Nara Lokesh. It will pass these decisions to the coordination committee, which will in turn coordinate with the field level committees and ensure implementation.

The 10 members of the coordination committee are senior leaders Garikapati Rammohan Rao, M. Narasimhulu, Revuri Prakash Reddy, Amarnath, Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, Mandava Venkateswar Rao, E. Peddireddy,  Ramesh Rathod and the presidents of TD Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy district units.

In 2014, TD won 11 and BJP five of the 24 Assembly constituencies that come under GHMC limits. For the GHMC polls, the TD has set up panels in all these 24 Assembly constituencies and also in the 150 divisions.

Panel to finalise seat-sharing
A 10-member committee will be set up soon to finalise the sharing of seats between the TD and BJP.

The panel will be represented by five members from each party. TD will be represented by L. Ramana, Revanth Reddy, Dayakar Rao and the presidents of Hyderabad and RR district party units, while G. Kishan Reddy, K. Laxman, Ramchandra Rao and presidents of Hyderabad and RR district party unit will represent the BJP.
