Mohammad Shami pulls hamstring in Australia, Jasprit Bumrah on stand-by: reports
BCCI to take final call on Shami's availability on Saturday.
Mumbai: Mohammad Shami, who made a comeback to Team India after recovering from a knee injury, may be out of the Australia tour after picking up another injury during the practice session on Friday.
According to reports, the right-arm pacer pulled his hamstring and the Indian cricket board will take a final call on his participation in the Australia tour on Saturday.
‘The Hindu’ quoted a BCCI official saying, "He (Shami) suffered an injury during the team’s training and is being monitored. Based on the medical advice on Saturday, it will be decided whether he will continue to be a part of the squad or not."
It is learnt that Jasprit Bumrah, who plays for Gujarat in Ranji Trophy and for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, is placed on stand-by.
