Telangana under pressure to send away AP employees

New vacancies and job opportunities would arise for Telangana youth.

Hyderabad: The non state-cadre staff has to be divided through dialogue between both the governments depending on their requirement.
However, the TS government is under pressure from TS employees unions to relieve such AP staff working in Telangana state at the earliest.

“The agitation is all about water, funds and jobs. If AP employees continue to work in TS even after bifurcation of AP, what is the point in achieving a separate state? If such AP employees are sent back, the new vacancies would arise and provide job opportunities for Telangana youth.

"Since the Chief Minister has recently announced to fill up to 15,000 teacher posts in TS soon, we gathered the details of AP teachers who are working in Hyderabad and surrounding districts and found their number to be nearly 650.

"Some of them, too, are willing to go to their own state but AP government is not showing interest. We want TS to relieve them from duties to put pressure on the AP government,” said TS teacher union leader and TRS MLC Pathuri Sudhakar Reddy.

He said the CM responded positively and asked officials to take measures accordingly.

Unions argue that a majority of the teachers secured postings here on spouse grounds and they should go back now since their spouses are set to be transferred by June to Amaravati.

“AP Chief Minister has been making statements on shifting the entire AP administration from Hyderabad to Amaravati by June this year. When the spouses of teachers move to Amaravati, the teachers should also shift there,” Mr Reddy said.
