Telangana: TD to go soft on TRS in GHMC election

Party leaders are being told that they have to focus on ward development.

Hyderabad: With Chief Ministers K. Chandrasekhar Rao and N. Chandrababu Naidu being on good terms, Telugu Desam leaders have been briefed to roll out a “positive campaign” for the GHMC polls.

The four TD legislators, party leaders and aspirants are being told that they have to focus on ward development and what work TD corporators will do, and not be anti-TRS.

A Telugu Desam MLA said that the decision was taken in December to roll out a ‘clean and green’ campaign: The city had worn the clean and green award four times when the TD held the mayoralty.

Incidentally, the mayor at that time, Mr. T. Krishna Reddy, is now with the TRS.

The TD will highlight that during the tenure of former GHMC commissioner M.T.

Krishna Babu, funds from international  organisation were used to developed slums in the city.
