Why was Shatrughan Sinha upset during Yash Chopra Memorial Awards?
After the felicitation got over, he didn't even meet or socialise with anyone. He quietly took the backstage exit and left the venue.
Who would have thought that the man, who made a career out of hollering “khamosh” on screen, would fall silent some day. But it happened at the recently held Yash Chopra Memorial Awards, where Shatrughan Sinha was, apparently, too miffed for words.
The veteran actor was sitting on stage with Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Subhash Ghai, Jaya Prada, Anu and Shashi Ranjan among a few others. It was the felicitation ceremony of Rekha and the dignitaries were called upon one by one to give a speech. Turns out, Sinha was among the last people to be called on — a fact that didn’t go down well with the actor. And so when he was finally handed over the mic, he refused to say anything.
A source present at the event said, “He clearly looked miffed. Shatrughan just nodded his head when the mic was handed over to him. He didn’t say anything. After the felicitation got over, he didn’t even meet or socialise with anyone. He quietly took the backstage exit and left the venue.”
