Honda to bring new 750cc adventure Scooter
The concept combines the attributes of a maxi scooter and an adventure motorcycle.
Nowadays, buyers generally prefer products that have multi-purpose applications. It was in Milan last year during the EICMA show when Honda showcased a concept motorcycle labelled 'City Adventure'. The concept combines the attributes of a maxi scooter and an adventure motorcycle. During the show, the manufacturer did not reveal any details about the said product. However, latest reports suggest that the vehicle will be based on a 745cc parallel-twin motor and a revised tubular steel frame from Honda’s NC750 motorcycle range and the Integra scooter.
Earlier this year in February, Honda had also applied for ‘X-ADV’ and ‘Honda X-ADV’ trademarks which were later approved in June, confirming the name to be carried by the new product. It is likely that with the new adventure scooter, Honda could be venturing with another genre-busting product like the DN-01 and Vultus.
The company has released a teaser video of the adventure scooter which provides details of the production-spec model being ridden on city and dirt roads. The video also mentions that more information on the new offering will be disclosed soon on August 30.
The design of the production model of the X-ADV can be understood from the patent images that have been leaked on the web. The production version is very close to the concept and features few changes such as a redesigned exhaust muffler, front windscreen and hand guards. On the mechanical front, the adventure scooter will come with USDs, spoked wheels with dual-purpose tyres and higher spec radial brake callipers.
