The carmaker has not revealed any details of the Superb Sportline yet.

Skoda is planning to launch the Superb Sportline in India, and has silently listed the sportier premium sedan on its Indian website. With this, the Czech carmaker is aiming to build on the popularity of the Octavia RS, which has received a good response in the Indian market.

The carmaker has not revealed any details of the Superb Sportline yet, however, Skoda offers the Superb Sportline in the European market, so we have a fair idea of what to expect from the upcoming sedan. Here’s what it offers in Europe:

The Sportline is a performance-oriented variant of the standard Superb, featuring cosmetic as well some mechanical updates. It gets 18- or 19-inch glossy black alloy wheels, additional black exterior design elements, ‘Sportline’ badging on front fenders and tinted rear side windows and rear windshield. On the inside, the Sportline boasts exclusive sports seats (similar to the Octavia RS), aluminium pedals, leather sports steering wheel and a performance monitor function in the infotainment system.

Other features offered on the Superb Sportline include an electronic differential lock with enhanced XDS+ function and Driving Mode Select, which allows the driver to choose the driving performance at the touch of a button. The Sportline also gets Adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), however, it is offered as optional there. Skoda has also lowered the suspension of the Sportline Superb by 15mm to enhance the sporty character of the sedan.

As far as the engines are concerned, the Superb Sportline is likely to be powered by the same set of petrol and diesel engines as is the case in Europe. In India, the petrol Superb is powered by a 1.8-litre turbocharged motor that is available in two states of tunes. With a 7-speed DSG transmission this engine makes 180PS and 250Nm, while with a 6-speed MT it generates 180PS and 320Nm. Having said that, there is a possibility that Skoda might offer the Superb Sportline with the 2.0-litre (230PS/350Nm) turbocharged petrol engine and 6-speed DSG that also powers the Octavia RS. The diesel Superb, on the other hand, gets a 2.0-litre TDI engine that makes 177PS and 350Nm with a 6-speed DSG.
