Hyundai to launch Creta SUV facelift on Jan.16
The updated Creta sports the bold new grille with Exter-like LED daytime running lights and vertically-stacked headlamps
Pune: Hyundai, the South Korean car giant, on Tuesday released a few teaser images of the upcoming Creta mid-size SUV facelift as it plans to launch it on January 16.
Dealerships across India have started accepting pre-bookings with a down payment of Rs 25,000.
The new Creta will rival the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate and Volkswagen Taigun in the midsize SUV segment.
The latest teaser shots feature not just the updated Creta, but also Hyundai’s brand ambassadors – Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.
The updated Creta sports the bold new grille with Exter-like LED daytime running lights and vertically-stacked headlamps. The rear of the Creta also looks quite similar to its compact sibling.
The interior of the new Creta is a massive departure from the conventional design of the current model. It features an all-new dashboard with dual screens forming a single unit, sleek air-conditioning vents and a touch-based climate control module. The car also appears to have a slimmer centre console and a 4-spoke steering wheel.
Experts said the Hyundai Creta facelift is likely to get the same powertrain options as the updated Kia Seltos. These include 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines along with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit.
Since its launch in July 2015 in the country, the popular Creta has sold over 9.5 lakh units despite fierce competition in its segment.
“Over the past 8 years, every third mid-size SUV sold in our country has been a Creta, a huge testament to the profound trust and love this brand has garnered among Indian customers,” said Tarun Garg, COO, Hyundai Motor India.
