Honda BR-V Launched in India at Rs 8.75 lakh

Honda has finally launched the much-awaited all-new BR-V at a starting price of Rs 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). With the new product, Honda has marked its entry in the highly competitive compact SUV segment. The BR-V is based on the same platform as the Brio hatchback, Amaze sedan and the Mobilio MPV. The crossover SUV will face direct competition from the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, Mahindra Scorpio and the likes.

The BR-V comes with its tried and tested 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine that also perform duty in the City sedan and Mobilio MPV. The i-VTEC petrol engine produces 119PS of power and 145Nm of torque and is mated to a new 6-speed manual gearbox as well as CVT auto-box. The manufacturer claims a mileage of 15.4kmpl for the manual, while the petrol automatic manages 16 kmpl. The i-DTEC diesel motor on the other hand, develops 100PS of power and 200Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Company figures claim the diesel variant to return mileageof 21.9 kmpl.
