Suzuki Motorcycles India (SMIPL) has launched a special edition of its new Access 125 scooter. The special-edition scooter comes with exclusive styling elements that make its road presence unique, and it will be available only in one colour: Pearl Mirage White. It gets a maroon-coloured leather seat cover, round chrome mirrors and a brown-coloured floor board. In addition to the styling elements, the scooter also gets a special-edition logo. The prices for the drum brake and disc brake variants are Rs 55,589 and Rs 58,900, respectively (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new Suzuki Access 125 Special Edition was launched at a fashion show, where models walked the ramp sporting Jack & Jones clothing, matching the trendy outlook of the Special Edition. For this, the company has formed a strategic business partnership with Jack & Jones, a renowned international clothing brand.
Commenting on the launch, Satoshi Uchida, managing director, SMIPL, said, “The Access 125 has been one of our most successful models. We have enhanced the fashion quotient and introduced the Access 125 Special Edition to diversify our presence in the segment and cater to the evolving needs of our customers. The Access 125 Special Edition is an indivisible combination of substance and style which gives it a retro feel and makes it stand out in the crowd.”
Besides the new addition of the Special Edition, the Suzuki Access remains unchanged and gets chrome-styled headlamps, analog-digital display and a mobile charging socket as standard equipment. Powering the scooter is a single-cylinder, air-cooled 124cc engine with SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) technology. Mated to a CVT transmission, the motor makes 8.7PS of maximum power and delivers a peak torque of 10.2Nm.
Talking about the competition, the direct rival of the Suzuki Access 125 is the Honda Activa 125 which comes with a more popular brand name. However, the cost of the Access 125 is slightly less, providing a benefit over the competition.
