Update: 2019-08-15 06:26 GMT
  • The Pulsar 125 is around Rs 20,000 more affordable than the Pulsar 150.
  • Shares its design cues with the Pulsar 150 Neon.
  • The 125cc engine is carburetted.

The new Bajaj Pulsar 125 has been spotted for the first time at a dealership, hinting that Bajaj might launch it in the next few weeks. As per our sources, the new Pulsar 125 is priced at Rs 66,586 (ex-showroom Pune). At this price, the baby Pulsar is almost Rs 20,000 less expensive than the Pulsar 150!

On the visual front, it looks eerily similar to the Pulsar 150 Neon. You get the same black paint scheme and yellow decals as seen on the Pulsar 150 Neon edition. However, to set apart from the bigger Pulsar, it gets a new neon blue/black paint job and some ‘125’ stickers on the body panels.

The Pulsar 125 isn’t powered by an all-new engine; instead, the powerplant is based on the Pulsar LS 135’s engine and makes 12PS of power and 11Nm of torque. That’s just 2PS and 2Nm less than the Pulsar 150! So what Bajaj is offering is an entry-level performance motorcycle which could be almost on par with the Pulsar 150, but a whole lot cheaper. Sounds like a cracking deal to us.

This motor isn’t BS6-compliant for now, but we could expect Bajaj to launch an updated version of the bike before the new emission norms kick in. You can read our detailed story on the baby Pulsar when it was first spotted out on Indian roads for testing purposes.

In terms of rivals, the new Pulsar 125 goes up against the conventional 125cc crop such as the  Hero Glamour FI and the Honda CB Shine SP.
