Remember the Hyundai Santro? You won’t have to, because some of them have been seen on the roads until recently. The Santro was one of the most successful tall-hatch models that did great in India.

The successful hatch even made the Hyundai the second largest carmaker in India. So, such a legendary hatchback is all set to re-enter the Indian market much to the delight of the fans of the model.

Expect the tall-hatch, the Hyundai Santro, to make it to the Indian market within the first six months of 2018. After its launch, it will likely be taking on the Renault Kwid, unlike its past rivals the Maruti Suzuki Zen and Maruti Suzuki Alto.

The Renault Kwid will be an equally powerful competitor, as much as the Zen and Alto were. The Kwid has currently been selling over a 10,000 units per month, which has upset even the market leader Alto a bit. Also, a total of 80,000 units of the Kwid have been sold, since launch.

The Santro was one of the models that sold in high volumes for the Hyundai, which then phased it out due to intense competition that necessitated new products. So, with the relaunch scheduled for 2018, the Santro is expected to drive high volumes in favor of Hyundai.

Besides, the new Hyundai Santro will help the Hyundai achieve its 1 million sales, hopes the Korean carmaker. The reintroduced model is also likely to regain lost grounds, as it has the modern desired traits of high-slung design, great interiors and a highly powerful and fuel efficient powertrain.
