The issues regarding the delivery of Kawasaki motorcycles in India has finally been resolved. SNK Palm Beach, a dealership in Navi Mumbai, failed to deliver 13 motorcycles to its customers and was facing a legal battle as the advance payment had been done. However, the motorcycles have been delivered now and the issues have been resolved.
There was a lot of ambiguity regarding the controversy and while Kawasaki has done right by its patrons, the brand has also offered some clarifications to clear the air over the matter. Here are some of the highlights:
- A total of 13 customers were affected by the issue. 11 were from Mumbai while two were from Pune.
- Initially, Kawasaki India was led to believe that three bikes were affected, when in reality, the number was a lot larger.
- The motorcycles that were booked (and are now being delivered) include nine Z800's, two ZX10R's, one Ninja 1000 and one Versys 1000.
- Kawasaki India got lawyers from Kawasaki Heavy Industries Limited (KHEI) who were in India for two months to find a resolution for the matter. The legalities involved caused a delay.
- This controversy has been scarring for all parties involved, but Kawasaki says it will not affect any other dealer in India or the brand’s future plans.
This has been quite an unprecedented move and we’re glad to say Kawasaki has appreciated the seriousness of the issue.
