Yamaha FZ250 launching Tomorrow
Termed as “a new breed of motorcycleâ€, the FZ50 will be the most powerful locally-manufactured bike from the Japanese automaker.
After being spied in the country several times, the Yamaha FZ250 has been finally confirmed to launch on January 24, 2017. Termed as “a new breed of motorcycle”, the FZ50 will be the most powerful locally-manufactured bike from the Japanese automaker. Let’s see what it has on offer.
The motorcycle will be powered by the same 250cc engine offered on the Fazer which is currently sold in the Brazilian market. It is a 249cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected motor producing 20.7PS of maximum power and 20.4Nm of peak torque, and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The power output figures indicate that the motorcycle might have a relaxed engine for a more comfortable riding experience.
Spy shots reveal that the bike will get full LED headlights with Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), muscular fuel tank extensions, a stubby exhaust muffler and split seats. Riding position of the bike is comfortable and upright to add to its streetfighter nature. The bike will get beefier telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock unit at the rear. It is equipped with disc brakes on both wheels, though there are no visual indicators of the bike being equipped with ABS in the spy shots. The company might offer the motorcycle with optional ABS in the future.
The FZ250 is expected to be priced around Rs 1.5 to 1.7 lakh and will take on the likes of the KTM 200 Duke, Benelli TNT 250, Bajaj Dominar 400 and the Mahindra Mojo.
