Honda entered the competitive compact SUV market by launching the BR-V in the country earlier this year. The introduction of the BR-V received a warm response from the Honda enthusiasts. The car has the potential to uplift Honda’s image, alike the other models from the automaker did.

Today, Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) announced the opening of its 300th dealership in India with the inauguration of Perfect Honda in Kochi. The state-of-the-art dealership was inaugurated by Yoichiro Ueno, President and CEO, HCIL.

To compete with the automotive giants like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai in India, HCIL has opened a hundred dealerships in approximately twenty months’ time. That translates to an average of five dealerships a month. This activity has helped the Japanese car manufacturer to expand its reach to a much larger customer base, especially in tier II and tier III cities.

“We are delighted to reach the milestone of 300 dealers in India. Network expansion is a critical part of enhancing the customer experience with Brand Honda as we make deeper inroads in the country. For a company to grow, it is essential that the touch-points for consumers increase. The dealerships are the most significant and important touch-points. In order to realize the potential of the market by moving closer to our customers, we are not only ensuring access to our customers but also providing them with best-in-class services across all our dealerships. Kerala has always been a very important market for Honda Cars India. The state contributes about 9% to our All India sales and with the opening of new facility Perfect Honda, we now have a strong network of 20 outlets in the state,” said Ueno, representing HCIL.

Nearly all the cars from HCIL's stable are clocking good numbers for the company. Honda’s current line of offerings in India comprise of the hatchback Brio, compact sedan Amaze, premium hatchback Jazz, premium sedan City, compact MPV Mobilio, compact SUV BRV and the SUV CRV.
