- Expected to launch in China by the end of this year.

- Engine options are likely to remain unchanged.
- Sold as Wulling Almaz, Chevrolet Captiva and Baojun 530 in various markets.
MG launched the Hector in June this year and the SUV became a runaway success. So much so that the SUV has already been sold out for the year 2019. While Hector is a new product for the Indian market, the SUV has been on sale in the international markets from a while although with different names. In China, it is called the Baojun 530, where the SUV is about to receive a facelift.
A set of leaked images show that the Baojun 530 facelift features a new front fascia which includes updated LED DRLs, redesigned front grille and updated headlamps housed in a pentagonal housing. The lower front grille is also updated and is much sleeker.
The side profile of the facelifted Baojun 530 looks identical to the current model and so is the rear profile. The only visible change at the back is the revised bumper with new rear fog lamps and reworked faux skid plate.
The leaked images does not reveal anything about the interior of the updated SUV. We expect it to be similar to the current model.
Under the hood, it is likely to be powered by the same of petrol and diesel engines like the current car. The diesel Hector gets Fiat sourced 2.0-litre unit making 170PS of power and 350Nm of peak torque. The petrol SUV, on the other hand, comes with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine churning out 143PS and 250Nm. MG also offers 48V mild hybrid system with the petrol engine that enhances its efficiency.
The facelifted Baojun 530 is expected to go on sale in China by the end of this year. However, don’t expect it to come to India anytime soon. We expect MG Hector to receive facelift not earlier than 2021 around two years after its launch.
