Citroen E-C3 EV debuts in India with higher price than Tiago EV

PUNE: Citroen, the French automaker, has introduced its maiden electric hatchback in India, the E-C3 EV priced at Rs 11.50 lakh at pan India showroom.

The car is available in four variants: Live, Feel, Feel Vibe Pack, and Feel dual-tone Vibe Pack, the latter costs Rs 12.43 lakh.

At its price range, the Citroen E-C3 will compete against the Tata Tigor EV. Although the Tiago EV was initially considered as its main competitor, the E-C3 is considerably more expensive. In contrast, the Tiago EV, which is the most economical electric car in India, has a lower price range of Rs 8.69 lakh-Rs 11.99 lakh.

Bookings for the Citroen E-C3 are already underway for Rs 25,000 and will be on sale in 25 cities across India.

The Citroen E-C3 looks similar to the ICE version. Inside, it gets a 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, height adjustable driver’s seat and over 35 connected car features.

The safety kit includes ABS, dual airbags and reverse parking sensors.

The E-C3 uses a 29.2 kWh battery pack, offering an ARAI-certified range of 320 km. It powers a front-mounted electric motor that develops 56 BHP and 143 Nm. The car can accelerate from 0-60 km/h in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 107 km/h.

The eC3 comes with a 3.3 kW onboard AC charger. It also supports fast charging and takes 57 minutes to charge from 10-80 per cent using a DC fast charger.

The Citroen E-C3 comes with a 3 year / 1,25,000 km warranty. Besides this, the carmaker is also offering a 7 year / 1,40,000 km warranty on the battery pack and 5 year / 1,00,000 km warranty on the electric motor.
