Pune: MG Motor, the British marquee brand owned by the Chinese car giant SAIC, on Monday introduced its premium SUV, the Gloster Blackstorm edition, with prices starting at Rs 40.30 lakh at Delhi showroom.

The Gloster Blackstorm is characterized by its all-black exterior with red accents on the steering wheel, headlamps, bumpers and red brake calipers.

The SUV gets black roof rails, smoked taillights, black window surrounds and black fender and fog lamp garnish.

The Blackstorm edition comes with an all-black interior with red highlights and dark-themed leatherette seat upholstery with red stitches.

The SUV is equipped with several features including a dual panoramic sunroof, a 12-way power-adjustable driver seat with massage and ventilation functions, ADAS and an all-terrain system with seven modes: Snow, Mud, Sand, Eco, Sport, Normal and Rock.

Available in 2WD and 4WD, the luxurious off-roader will be offering seating options for six or seven passengers.

The SUV is mechanically unchanged. The Gloster is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine. It comes in two states of tune - a single turbo version with 161 BHP and 375 Nm and a twin-turbo unit that puts out 215 BHP and 480 Nm. The latter comes with a shift-on-fly 4WD system. An 8-speed automatic transmission is offered as standard across both engine tunes.
