Mercedes-Benz Unveils CLE 300, AMG GLC 43 in India

Mercedes-Benz India launches CLE 300 Cabriolet and AMG GLC 43 Coupe at Rs 1.10 crore and Rs 1.11 crore, expanding its luxury lineup

Pune: Mercedes-Benz, India’s biggest luxury car maker, which is betting big on top end models above Rs 1 crore, on Thursday introduced two new models such as the CLE 300 4Matic Cabriolet, priced at Rs 1.10 crore and the AMG GLC 43 Coupe, priced at Rs 1.11 crore at pan India showroom.

"With GLC 43 4Matic Coupé and CLE 300 Cabriolet, we are launching two highly desirable top-end vehicles for the Indian customers seeking performance and lifestyle vehicles,” said Santosh Iyer, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.

“Our Top-End Vehicles (TEV) continue to drive strong customer loyalty and these two vehicles will further enhance the desirability of the TEV segment. For the first time we are debuting the AMG GLC 43 SUV Coupé with the exclusivity of ‘One man, One Engine’ in India, making cutting edge motorsports technology accessible to customers. The AMG GLC 43 SUV has been the most successful AMG in India, the new model will further enhance its popularity,” he noted.

The Mercedes CLE Cabriolet faces competition from the BMW Z4, which is priced at Rs 90.90 lakh. The Mercedes GLC 43 4Matic Coupe rivals the BMW X3 M40i, which is priced at Rs 87.70 lakh.

While the CLE 300 Cabriolet embodies the classic elegance of the German brand’s convertibles, the AMG GLC 43 Coupe strengthens its performance SUV lineup.

Both models offer a highly appealing and emotive driving experience.

The CLE Cabriolet features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, delivering 258hp and 400Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 9-speed torque converter automatic as standard. Mercedes claims the CLE Cabriolet can sprint from 0-100kph in 6.6 seconds, before topping out at 250kph.

Powering the AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid tech. It produces 421hp and 500Nm of torque, making it the most powerful in its class. The GLC 43 uses a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. It sprints from 0 to 100kph in 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 250kph. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and sends power to all four wheels.

It features technology derived from Formula 1, including an electric exhaust gas turbocharger that minimizes turbo lag. Key performance features include AMG Ride Control suspension with adjustable damping, rear axle steering, and the AMG Dynamic Plus Package, which includes an AMG Performance steering wheel and dynamic engine mounts.
