Skoda Kylaq garners over 10,000 bookings within 10 days

Pune: Skoda, the Czech automaker, has garnered over 10,000 bookings for its newly launched first-ever compact SUV, the Kylaq within 10 days of its launch.

Deliveries will start on January 27, 2025, the company said.
This booking milestone in the fiercely price conscious competitive car market underscores the rising interest in Skoda’s latest SUV.
Building on this momentum, Skoda Auto India will also embark on a nationwide ‘Dream Tour’ with the Kylaq, connecting with customers across key cities.
Starting from the Chakan plant, near Pune, on Dec.13 three Kylaq SUVs drove off on three different routes to cover some 70 ties and towns across the country over 43-days.
“10 days and 10,000 bookings, without a car in the showroom,” said Petr Janeba, Brand Director at Skoda Auto India.
“These 10,000 bookings have come without any possibility for customers to experience Kylaq, which reflects the unmatchable trust in the Škoda brand, and we are extremely humbled,” he said.
The Skoda Kylaq is the brand’s first compact SUV based on the MQB A0-IN platform.
It is positioned below the Kushaq and is available in four variants: Classic, Signature, Signature+ and Prestige. Prices start at Rs 7.89 lakh at Mumbai showroom.
The new Kylaq gets an 8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The sub-4-meter SUV is also equipped with ventilated front seats, an electrically adjustable driver seat, a wireless phone charger, a Canton sound system, and ambient lighting.
The Kylaq is powered by the familiar 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which produces 113 BHP and 178 Nm. It is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
