Skoda Kylaq, Mahindra XEV 9e, BE 6 score 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP crash test

Pune: Three new cars such as the most affordable the Skoda Kylaq, the compact SUV, and Mahindra's born electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and BE 6 have scored 5-star safety ratings for both adult and child occupant protection by Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP).
The Skoda Kylaq scored 30.88/32 points for adult occupant protection and 45/49 points for child occupant safety.
In the frontal offset barrier test, the Kylaq offered good protection to the head, neck, chest, and lower body of the front occupants. The driver’s chest and lower leg showed adequate protection.
In the side movable barrier test, the Kylaq offered good protection to the head and abdomen, while the chest showed adequate protection. It also offered good protection overall in the side pole impact test.
The vehicle used for the crash tests was the Prestige MT variant. The ratings are also applicable for the Signature and Signature+ variants.
The Mahindra XEV 9e scored 32/32 points for adult occupant protection and 45/49 points for child occupant safety.
In the front offset barrier test, the XEV 9e offered good protection to the head, neck, chest and lower body of the driver and passenger. The EV offered good protection overall in the side movable barrier and side pole impact tests as well. The test vehicle was an XEV 9e Three B79 variant.
The Mahindra BE 6 electric scored 31.97/32 points for adult occupant protection and 45/49 points for child occupant safety.
In the front offset barrier test, the BE 6 offered good protection to the head, neck, chest and lower body of the driver and passenger. The EV offered good protection overall in the side movable barrier and side pole impact tests as well.
The test vehicle used was a BE 6 Three B79 variant.
