10,000 BSNL employees to undergo certification programme
Employees working in optical fibre splicing and as customer care executives would undergo this certification.
New Delhi: As many as 10,000 employees of state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) are set to undergo an assessment and certification programme, as part of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
Under the 'Recognition of Prior Learning' programme, Telecom Sector Skill Council in association with Global Institute of Skills Development and NSDC will facilitate the certification for BSNL employees.
These employees from seven states — Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka will undergo orientation and assessment by March.
"The programme is aimed at people who have experience, know their jobs but do not have any formal certification. These employees will undergo 12 hours orientation programme and then sit for assessment, after which they will receive the certification," Sunil Bakshi, CEO of Global Institute of Skill Development said.
