Trial production of three-wheelers likely by month-end: LML
Earlier, the company had temporarily suspended production activity for three months starting May 6.
New Delhi: Two-wheeler maker LML today said it expects to begin the trial production of its cargo three-wheelers by the end of this month.
"Barring unforeseen circumstances and completion of work in progress, the company intends to commence trial production of its light cargo three-wheeler around the end of October," LML Ltd said in a regulatory filing.
Earlier, the company had temporarily suspended production activity for three months starting May 6 to carry out maintenance work and look at suitability of its facilities to produce three-wheelers.
The company also intended to utilise the suspension of work to look at the realignment of the plant, machinery and other related activity for the manufacturing of three-wheelers.
"Barring unforeseen circumstances, the above (suspension of work) is likely to take about three months," the company had said in a regulatory filing.
The company, which used to make the iconic LML Vespa in collaboration with Italy's Piaggio and C Spa, is in a downward spiral after its break-up with Piaggio in 1999 and a lock-out at its Kanpur factory in 2006.
