India's plane demand will rise: Boeing

Boeing has revised India's aviation sector over the next 20 years to 1,850 planes.

Boeing and Airbus executives at the show have voiced confidence that air travel in Asia will continue to grow strongly.

Mumbai: Aircraft manufacturer Boeing has revised upwards its demand projections for India’s aviation sector over the next 20 years to 1,850 planes valued at $265 billion as against its earlier estimate of 1,740 planes.

“We are more bullish on India than before. India continues to have a strong commercial aerospace market and the highest domestic traffic growth in the world.

“With the new aviation policies in place, we see even greater opportunities and remain confident in the market and the airlines in India,” Dinesh Keskar, senior vice-president, Asia-pacific and India sales, Boeing Commercial airplanes.
