Reliance Jio has added 7 customers per second, says Mukesh Ambani
Telecom arm of RIL has now 125 million customers which according to Ambani is a world record.
Mumbai: Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has said that Reliance Jio added seven customers per second since launch of 4G service on September 5 last year. "Today Jio has 125 million customers," Ambani said at RIL's annual general meeting.
Ambani told the shareholders' gathering that Jio has made several world records and also broken several since its launch. RIL chairman praised the team instrumental in Jio's launch and going ahead adding more and more numbe rof customers.
Jio's first paid users are Prime customers who will continue to get attractive benefits. Presently, a Jio user gets 84GB data for 56 days on a recharge of Rs 309. On the other hand, Jio is offering 84GB data for 84 days on a recharge of Rs 399. Voice calls and national roaming are lifetime free on Jio network.
According to Ambani, Reliance Jio is rapidly expanding its physical presence across country. "In coming 12 months Jio will cover 99 per cent of country's population," Ambani said at the AGM.
