Tourist's food choice not state subject, says Kant

NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant on Friday said it is not the states' business to decide what a tourist should eat and drink.

New Delhi: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) NITI Aayog Amitabh Kant said that it is not the states' business to decide what a tourist should eat and drink. CEO Amitabh Kant said that the choice is the individual’s business not the states' so to develop the tourism sector, it’s essential for state to give such freedom to the tourists.

CEO NITI Aayog said at an event when he was asked about his views on states banning beef and alcohol. He also questioned how can tourists visiting India chill out if they are barred from making their eating and drinking choices limited.
