It will be growth Budget: Shaktikanta Das
Mr Das said that growth is important as it leads to more job creation, more opportunities.
New Delhi: The Union Budget 2016-17 will be growth oriented and will try to address challenges faced by various sectors of the economy, economic affairs secretary Shaktikanta Das said on Monday.
Mr Das said that the effort of the government is to present a Budget, within the fiscal constraints, which is growth oriented and which maintains the growth momentum and tries to develop on it.
He said that the government is aware what are the key challenges which are facing the Indian economy and various sectors. Mr Das said that key challenges will be addressed in the Budget. “The government’s endeavour will be to address each and every challenge,” said the secretary.
Mr Das said that growth is important as it leads to more job creation, more opportunities and more activities which leads to more development.
The secretary termed that the projected 7.6 per cent growth for the current fiscal as “very significant” — the highest growth rate in the last five years — under the economic volatility that the world faces now.
