Godrej Agrovet Launches New Pest Control Product for Chilli

Hyderabad: Food and agriculture conglomerate Godrej Agrovet (GAVL) launched an advanced pest control product. With the patent chemistry discovered and developed by Japan's Nissan Chemical Corporation, Rashinban is launched for the first time globally in Hyderabad.

“Through our partnership with Nissan Chemical Corporation, our endeavour is to introduce solutions that uplift the Indian farming families,” said Balram Singh Yadav, managing director, GAVL.

India is the global chilli capital as it produces about 36 per cent of the total global production.  Within India, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are key producers of chilli. However, 80 percent of the chilli crop is prone to getting damaged at the nascent stage because of pests including the thrips, leps, hoppers and mites. Rashinban is recommended for the active flowering stage of chilli plants, he said.  This will help increase yields.

The dosage is 400 ml per acre.

“Rashinban is a result of our efforts to support the growth and sustainability of Indian agriculture,” said Dr Rajkumar Yadav, managing director of Nissan Chemical Corporation (India).

GAVL’s  Balram Singh Yadav said the company is investing in a palm oil facility in Telangana.

The company in September broke ground for a Rs -300-crore integrated palm oil complex in Khammam district. The investment would be done over four years. The facility would support 50,000 farmers and generate employment for 2,000 people. The company had then indicated it would consider investing in dairy, pharma, personal care products, furniture, real estate, retail, poultry, animal feed and aquaculture in the State.
