SRM Institute gets highest NAAC rating

In the new accreditation process, the institute said about 70 per cent weightage is assigned to quantitative metrics.

SRM University, said that it has been recently accre-dited with the highest grade A++ by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Hyderabad: SRM Institute of Science and Technology, formerly known as SRM University, said that it has been recently accredited with the highest grade A++ by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

In the new accreditation process, the institute said about 70 per cent weightage is assigned to quantitative metrics. With a score of 3.55 on a 4.00 scale, SRMIST is eligible to be granted graded autonomy as category I university as per the University Grants Commission (UGC).

On becoming a Category I university, SRMIST will be automatically deemed to be under Section 12B of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; it can also start off-campuses and increase internationalisation.

SRMIST has over 50,000 students and more than 3,200 faculty members, offering programmes in engineering, medicine, science, humanities, etc.
