Diwali Bumper Sales at Hero MotoCorp Touch 14 Lakh
Pune: Hero MotoCorp, India’s biggest motorcycle maker, on Thursday said it recorded the highest-ever sales in a festive season by clocking more than 14 lakh two-wheeler units in the 32-day period this year.
The record-breaking sales were attributed to strong demand in rural markets and consistent retail uptake in key urban centers, the company said in an exchange filing on November 16.
The company achieved a 19 per cent growth compared to the previous year, surpassing its earlier highest retail record of 12.7 lakh units, which was achieved during the festive period in 2019.
The company said it achieved the latest record sales mark between the first day of the Navratras and Bhai Dooj on November 15.
“We are delighted with the festive sales. The festive season clearly indicates that rural areas are experiencing growth again, which bodes well for the country in general and the two-wheeler industry in particular,” said Niranjan Gupta, CEO at Hero MotoCorp.
The company, on Nov 15, said it expects demand momentum for its two-wheelers to build up further in the domestic market with economic indicators remaining positive.
Hero, which recently announced its foray into the European market, is eyeing a revamp of its sales infrastructure and is aiming to have at least 100 premium retail showrooms in the next six months.
“The record retail number was achieved due to the strong customer traction across markets, with good double-digit growth in the Central, North, South and East Zones,” Ranjivjit Singh, Chief Business Officer, India Business Unit, Hero MotoCorp, pointed out.
During the festive season, Hero MotoCorp had also launched the second edition of Hero GIFT – the Grand Indian Festival of Trust.
This program, tailored for the festive period, includes new model updates, captivating colour variations, enticing benefits, and appealing finance schemes designed for customers.
